Electronic Transit Pass Arrangements Implemented in 37 Districts
CM Shri Chouhan in Review Meeting of Mineral Development Corporation
Illegal minerals excavation must be stopped strictly and legal excavation should be encouraged. Vehicles transporting illegal minerals should be confiscated. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan issued these directives in a review meeting of Mining Department held here today. It was informed in the meeting that Electronics Transit Pass arrangements have been implemented in 37 districts. The arrangements will be made in remaining 14 districts shortly. Minister for Mineral Resources, Commerce and Industries Shri Rajendra Shukl and Chief Secretary Shri B.P. Singh were present in the meeting.
Shri Chouhan gave directives that work regarding mineral survey should be carried out on priority. Infrastructure related works in districts should be carried out with the amount received under the District Mineral Foundation Rules. It was informed in the meeting that a draft of Navin Goun Khanij Niyam has been prepared. A total of 748 cases has been registered against illegal excavation and a penalty of Rs. 227 crore has been imposed. Similarly a penalty of Rs. 28 crore 71 lakh has been imposed registering 9951 cases against illegal transportation till February end.
Furthermore, it was informed that a Mobile App service is being prepared for effective prevention of illegal excavation, transport and storage. E-file tracking system is being implemented in the department. A revenue of Rs. 2873 crore has been received by the department till February end. A proposal for departmental strengthening has been prepared. Moreover, a proposal for additional resources and staff for proper functioning of earlier notified 62 and proposed 38 check posts has been made. An action plan is being prepared for auction of 4 lime stone block and one diamond block.
Principal Secretary to CM Shri Ashok Varnval, O.S.D. to CM and A.D.G. Shri Adarsh Katiyar, Secretary to CM Shri Hariranjan Rao and Secretary Mining Shri Manohar Dubey were present in the meeting.
